Valentine’s Day Cards – lovely cards for Love Day!

Confession time – me and my husband don’t exchange Valentine’s Day cards! We used to, but then several years ago there was a bit of a situation where an attempt at on-card humour was made, and it did not go so well (naming no names!), and we just kind of stopped after that. But I’ve seen such a lot of lovely Love Day cards over the past couple of weeks, I consider it my duty and honour to show them to you!

In other news – I’m trying to get a library of free printables up and running, I blog here, but I also create…. a lot! And at the moment things I design are just sat doing nothing, which is a shame, so I thought I’d just share them out. Choosing the best way to distribute freebies from a library is proving hard as I want to make it really easy for you to access, but I want to build it up to quite a lot of pieces. If you’d like to be kept in the loop about my free printables library, please sign up here, where you can download a pretty marbled paper design 2018 calendar should you wish and also get notified when I add new stuff!

Anyway, without further ado, here are the pretties!

The colour “Greenery” is still – for a little while longer at least – Pantone’s 2017 Color of the Year, and while I’m not personally fan of this colour when used as a solid block, I’m absolutely besotted with the beautifully simplistic leafy styles and use of colour that this set of talented designers bring to this collection.

Stocking Filler Gift Guide – #pingamestrong Enamel Pins, Lapel Pins & Badges

In the run up to this year’s festive & gift giving season, I’m creating a number of gift guides. This one is all about super cute & pretty enamel pins, aka lapel pins, and also aka (here in the UK) badges! (You can also see my previous gift guides right here).

While researching this post, I discovered this huge subculture – you can get enamel pins for *everything*! Any cult tv, film, motif. Plants, people, book lovers, bands…. The list, I’m pretty sure, is actually endless. Happy pins, dark pins, feminist pins, sarcastic pins…  some stuff I didn’t even understand (probs cos I’m not cool enough). If you’re into it, there’s a lapel pin for it!

Wearing an enamel pin sends out a little signal to the world of the kind of gal or guy you are. A bit like band teeshirts, but so much more subtle… you have to notice and pay attention to the wearer, which is actually a lovely way of making new friends and bringing people together!

I’ve kept this a light / happy / fun selection. These are perfect stocking fillers, secret santa gifts. Little tokens for a special someone.

Gorgeous “Will You Be My Bridesmaid” card inspiration

Wedding trends and traditions are always evolving, new innovations, beautiful new styles, decor ideas and course wedding paper. In recent years, a new trend for bridesmaid or groomsman proposals has emerged. I see so many lovely things on my travels around the interwebs, I thought I’d round-up a few of my current favourite Will You Be My Bridesmaid? cards and other lovely products to help you pop the big question to your BFFs.

Marrygrams Will You Be My Bridesmaid Card

It’s only fair we begin with the business that started the whole trend! Marrygrams are the originator of the Bridesmaid / Groomsman card, something that has become such a wonderful wedding tradition. There are lots and lots of different cards to choose from on their website, so you can get really personal with your greeting. I like this one, with it’s dark grey calligraphy text, lovely & classic.

Paper Raven Co Will You Be My Bridesmaid Card

This card is from Paper Raven Co. and is so pretty. I’ve mentioned before on this blog, that I’m a big fan of pattern design, and Erin’s artistic style is right up my street. Also – who could say no to bridesmaid duties when presented with this card! She has a lovely Instagram too 🙂

Bridesmaid Proposal Box by Kim's Little Monsters

I adore this one, by Kim’s Little Monsters. It’s so sweet and different. It’s a tiny shadowbox that you can personalise with the name of the recipient. Something to treasure forever and perfect for a bride who likes unusual (and miniature!) things.

This beautiful painted floral Will You Be My Bridesmaid card from Rifle Paper Co is available as a single, or in boxes of 8. I love the house style of Anna Bond’s illustrations and Rifle are doing some great collaborations with other brands.

Pretty Will You Be My Bridesmaid Proposal Cards

This adorable Bridesmaid proposal card, from Australian 3 Eggs Design has a sweet pin badge that can be used by the recipient, maybe on the Hen night, Bridal Shower or on the big day itself!

Handmade Will You Be My Bridesmaid Calligraphy Gift Cards by Moon & Tide

These beauties, by Moon & Tide are hand calligraphed, and personalised. Finished with rustic twine and a sweet paper rose, they’re designed for attaching to a bridesmaid gift of your choice (chocolates and prosecco are mentioned – both excellent suggestions!). These are so pretty and unique and a forever keepsake.

Ice Cream Themed Stationery, Greetings Cards & Gifts

It’s National Ice Cream Day 2017! And what better way to celebrate than some sweet paper treats – Ice cream themed wall art, greetings cards and a couple of ice cream themed gifts. The weather here is… well a little mixed (hope yours is better!) but my eyes do love to feast on sweet summer brights and cute illustrative styles in the summer.

It’s got gold foil, florals, and it’s served in a sugar cone. Anna Bond’s illustrations never fail to delight. From Rifle Paper Co.

I absolutely love this art print, the colours and the bold simplicity of the illustration evokes an old-school seventies feel. It’s available in both digital and as a physically printed item, from beLoved boutique over on Etsy.

I’ve long been a fan of Gabrielle from the House of Hooray‘s work, it’s worth hopping over to her shop for a look at all her goodies! This garland has sweet personalisable accents and is made from wood & felt (a couple of my fave things!). Check the cute detail on the lolly sticks.

For making your own stationery creations – this would be super fun to use for DIY party invitations or your own wall art. Each lovely rubber stamp is hand carved especially for every buyer, isn’t this just adorable! By Talk to the Sun.

This is a perfect clip art set from the Ink Nest for those of you who like to make your own DIY printables. It would make such a pretty birthday party invite and reminds me of those fantastic sixties childrens book illustrations.

Another adorable helping of ice cream wall art by the Lovely Drawer on Etsy, with the black graphic cone, this would look lovely in a monochrome with pops of colour themed room.

Oh my gosh, I’m getting hungry now, and I’m trying to stay off sugar at the moment, this isn’t helping! Loving this super bright & tasty looking birthday card from DesignDesign.

Pom poms, glitter, pink and ice cream – yes please! How perfectly adorable is this little banner! Made by Noodledoll Nelly.

I’ve got to tell you, I died a little when I discovered this awesome ice cream truck enamel pin badge from the ever brilliant Lucky Horse Press. I love that enamel pins are so hot right now, and this is one of the coolest I’ve seen (sorry about the pun..)

With extra sprinkles on top, I love this wrapping paper from The Little Deer shop, which has silver foil pressed elements for extra cutenesss.

That’s it! Hope you enjoyed & thank you so much for reading. Please tell me what you thought, and also if there’s anything you’d like to see me write about!
